Heifer calves should be vaccinated, sorted and
delivered to Flying H Genetics (FHG). Weaning is preferred but FHG will wean if
needed. Minimum group size is 10 head. After arrival heifers will be bangs
vaccinated, poured, weighed and given a shot of prostaglandin. Drug and vet
costs, $1.00 per head chute charge and feed and yardage will be billed monthly.
Target growth is 1.5 pounds per day on
winter/summer graze with supplement. Feed and yardage costs are estimated to
average $1.00 per head per day. Processing prior to breeding includes
weighing, pelvic measuring, vaccinations and pour on. If we identify any
heifers that we think should be culled we will notify you prior to breeding and
proceed as directed.
AI breeding to the bull(s) of your choice will be
by syncronization between April 10th to May 20th and November 20th to January
20th (unless other arrangements are made). Bull service following AI will be
available. Syncronization costs, semen, AI fee, post weaning vaccinations and
normal health and vet work are expected to cost $50 to $60 per head.
FHG makes no guarantees or warranty on death
loss, conception rates or performance. The heifers will be fed and cared for
according to best management practices with consulting nutritionist and
veterinarians as needed. Owner assumes all risks and losses due to death and
injury.
Owner will arrange pickup after pregnancy
checking (45 days post breeding) with the option to leave the heifers up to 30
days prior to calving.
Billing statements will be sent monthly with
payment due by the 20th and all accounts must be paid-in-full at time of pickup.
