BLACK GelPLUS/BALANCER BULLS
Lots 1-85
This tremendous group of hybrid beef bulls gives you one of the
largest selections of Gelbvieh and Black Angus hybrids anywhere.
We have been engineering these genetics since 1994 and have
learned how to blend the two breeds to complement and improve as
well as what to avoid. Notice the number of AI sired and ET calves
in this group. We work just as hard producing our GelPLUS as we do
our purebreds and actually require higher standards for the
GelPLUS to compensate for the heterosis affect in their
statistics.
All other Gelbvieh breeders call their hybrids Balancers. The big
difference between Balancers and our GelPLUS is, all of our bulls
must pass all of our 17 Quality Standards and carry our complete
line of customer services and guarantees. You get peace of mind
knowing that the genetics are right and the service and guarantees
cover the rest. These hybrid genetic packages can be used several
ways with the most common use being on hybrid cows—such as
Gelbvieh x Angus or Angus x Hereford. They are also used on
straight Angus cows to add some muscle and heterosis to end up
with a 75% Angus and 25% Gelbvieh calf. Either way, they simplify
crossbreeding and produce females superior to straight breeds.
Study the benefits of heterosis and our 5 Step Breeding Planner in
the center spread of this catalog to figure out what would work
best for you. Have fun!

BLACK PUREBRED BULLS
Lots 86-118
Welcome to the Black Purebred Gelbvieh bulls. I’m sure you will
notice the number of AI sired and ET calves. We make sure that
many of our top purebreds are bred to maintain our core purebred
herd which is critical to building the top GelPLUS/Balancer
program possible. There are several seed stock Herd Bulls, some
heifer bulls and a great selection for use on Angus cows to make
superb Smart Cross and Balancer calves to benefit from crossbred
vigor. Check out the “Breeding Planner” in the center spread to
get the details. One of the strengths of this group is their
genetic balance and top carcass genetics compared to breed
average. That’s what the Genetic Trend Charts show – here is the
proof.

PUREBRED ANGUS BULLS
Lots 119-131
These Angus bulls are different – they are not big and fat but rather
bred to be good at the things Angus are really known for – calving
ease, efficient maternal and carcass quality. There are thousands of
Angus bulls for sale, many are bigger than Charolais and fatter than
some slaughter steers. What do they have to do with what Angus are
good at? These Angus bulls are bred for calving ease (several are
guaranteed on heifers) moderate maternal – meaning they raise calves
on less feed and do it for more net profit than the big, fat bulls –
and carcass quality. If you are tired of Angus bulls that go down hill
after you get them home and are too fat and lazy to do their job,
these Angus bulls will be a breath of fresh air. With over 40 years of
practical genetics bred into them, they will do what Angus are famous
for – calving ease, great, efficient mama cows and high quality beef.
Designed to work on either Angus or Continental cows. |

RED PUREBRED BULLS
Lots
132-136
This
selection of Red Purebred Bulls has some Herd Bulls in it. Several are
sired by Collateral, the 2008 National Grand Champion Bull who is 5
Stars for Tenderness. These bulls will also work great on Red Angus or
Hereford cows to produce red calves with the bonus of heterosis while
complimenting the package with growth, muscle and milk. The daughters
can then be bred to Red GelPLUS/Balancer bulls to benefit from
heterosis in both the cow and calf. Note the moderate frame with the
right kind of pounds. Not fat-just good.

RED
GelPLUS
BULLS
Lots 137-159
Many who have
tried these Red GelPLUS claim they work better than the black ones. I
won’t take sides on that debate but I do know that they will stand the
heat better in our southern climates. I also know that Gelbvieh and
Red Angus are two breeds that do compliment each other to produce a
better product than either parent. Using these GelPLUS in a planned
crossbreeding program lets you utilize the many benefits of heterosis--
both maternal and growth--in a simplified crossbreeding system.
Together, these breeds can produce better cows and carcasses than they
can alone. Note the different percentages. Pick the one that fits your
needs best and enjoy the benefits of using two great breeds in one
simple crossbreeding system.
